Campanula poscharskyana (Bellflower)

Campanula poscharskyana, commonly called Serbian Bellflower, is a short, mounding ground cover with a sprawling habit approximately 4-10″ tall. Campanula are versatile perennials that provide a wide range of colors, shapes and uses. Many varieties offer long bloom time and easy care, while others feature some of the best blues and deepest purples in the perennial world. Spikes, globes, carpets-Campanula offer many pleasing forms.

Blue Waterfall Bellflower has a lovely cascading habit. A gush of cool blue, bell-shaped flowers reach out to cascade from the center of the plant from late spring to early fall. Blue Waterfall has been known to reach a good spread the first year, then double in size the second year. An excellent plant for a rock garden wall, patio container, window box, or hanging basket.

Grow in full sun to partial shade. Remove about a third of the plant after blooming to freshen the foliage. They can be divided every 3-4 years in spring or autumn. The foliage remains evergreen in mild winters and needs to be sheared only once in a while to keep its appearance tidy.
